Many have struggled to find a way to blend and market what they know and have learned from their commendable service to our country in the civilian workforce. Understanding what skills are learned from military service that are in high demand in the civilian workforce has been an area of challenge, both for the military member and the civilian workplace.
Canada Career Counselling has developed the Career Transformation: Translating the Warrior Program tailored specifically for regular force military members looking to transition to the civilian workforce, reserve members looking at maximizing their military professional skills as they develop in their civilian careers, and to veterans who have been released from the military. Combining Canada Career Counselling’s 8-year history of successful career development services with a specific military-to-civilian translation process helps the military client find the ideal career for them.
Not only does this program utilize effective tools and assessments to help military-experienced clients explore themselves, research their options, and make strategic decisions about career, it also provides support in overcoming the common challenges to transition for that population by trained Registered Psychologists. Some roadblocks to transition that have been identified for military members include questions of identity, trauma, and interpersonal relationship/family.
In-person counselling options are currently offered in Calgary, Toronto, and Victoria. The program is also available through a secure and reliable online platform, where military clients can connect with their Canada Career Counselling Psychologist in a virtual face-to-face experience and move through the program and process just as well as if they were in person—from anywhere in Canada.
Canada Career Counselling is looking forward to helping those honourable warriors find the right and best civilian career fit by translating all of their military strengths into highly desirable assets.
